First Impressions
Family travel changes the way you look at hotels. Before having children, my wife and I might have focused almost entirely on the infinity pool, marina views and spa. Now, our first questions tend to involve room layouts, children’s menus and whether everyone can sleep without being in the same room. Pure Salt Port Adriano brought us back to that earlier version of travelling, because this is an adults-only hotel. It cannot be recommended for a stay with our two children, and it would be misleading to pretend otherwise. However, viewed through the eyes of parents, it represents something equally appealing: the hotel we would choose for a rare weekend away together.
Location and Arrival
The arrival experience is composed from the beginning. Luggage is taken care of, check-in is seated and the lobby’s large windows immediately draw attention towards the marina. Guests are offered a welcome drink but are not pressured to stop and have it immediately. They can settle into the room and return later, which reflects the relaxed atmosphere of the property. The layout is easy to understand, with the lobby connecting to the restaurant, bar, pool and wellness areas. There is no need to spend the first day learning how to navigate an enormous resort. The hotel feels intimate, orderly and intentionally quiet.
The Room
Most rooms include a balcony or terrace with a view towards the sea. Superior Sea View Rooms feel bright and comfortable, while Junior Suites provide more space, larger bathrooms, double vanities, bathtubs and rainfall showers. Selected categories include whirlpools or direct access to a shared swimming pool. As parents, the Junior Suites would probably appeal most to us. A spacious bathroom and private terrace may sound like relatively simple features, but they become noticeably more indulgent after years of family holidays in which every surface becomes occupied by sun cream, children’s clothes and inflatables. The nightly turndown service, pillow menu and consistent housekeeping reinforce the feeling that the hotel is designed around adult comfort. The accommodation is not attempting to provide a family base. It is designed to let two people slow down.
Design and Style
The design is contemporary and restrained, built around sea views, natural light and calm materials rather than statement decoration.
Pools and Facilities
The infinity pool is the visual centre of the hotel. It overlooks the Mediterranean and marina, providing a calm setting for swimming or spending the afternoon on a sun lounger. Because the hotel is adults-only, the atmosphere is noticeably different from a family resort. There are no inflatable animals drifting across the water, no sudden splashes beside someone trying to read and no children asking for another ice cream before lunch. As a family reviewer, I usually look for pools that will entertain the children. Here, the appeal is the opposite. The pool is somewhere adults can do very little.
Spa and Wellness
The spa includes a sauna, steam room, salt room, cold pool and treatment rooms. There is also a gym and yoga space, as well as bicycle, electric-bike and car-rental services. It is a strong wellness offering without the hotel feeling like a strict health retreat.
Food and Drink
The hotel’s main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with an adjoining cocktail bar for drinks. Breakfast includes pastries, homemade yoghurt, cooked-to-order eggs, sparkling wine, cured meats and Iberian ham. It is the kind of breakfast where my wife and I could spend an hour without repeatedly leaving the table to find something else for one of the children. The marina below the hotel also provides a good selection of restaurants, and the complimentary shuttle makes it easy to move between the property and waterfront.
Service
Staff can arrange transport, car hire and activities around Mallorca. This makes the hotel a useful base for guests who want to explore, although it would also be easy to spend several days moving no farther than the spa, pool and marina.
The Neighbourhood
The hotel overlooks Port Adriano and the coastline of southwest Mallorca. This is a more peaceful environment than Palma or the island’s busier resort areas. The marina sits below the property, lined with restaurants and framed by boats, calm water and the surrounding coastline. Palma and the airport are approximately 25 to 30 minutes away by car, making the hotel accessible without feeling as though it is part of the city. A complimentary shuttle runs between the hotel, marina and beach. That removes the need to drive or tackle the hillside every time guests want to eat beside the water. For parents accustomed to travelling with bags, bottles, towels and spare clothes, being able to leave the room carrying almost nothing feels like a luxury in itself.
Family Experience
Pure Salt Port Adriano is not an option for the main family holiday. Children are not permitted to stay, so families need to look elsewhere if everyone is travelling together. However, parents considering an anniversary, birthday or short break without the children should keep it on the list. It offers the facilities many parents appreciate most once they finally have time alone: a quiet pool, good food, a spacious room, spa facilities and no pressure to fill every hour with activities.

What Could Be Better
Nothing significant for its intended audience — but it simply does not serve families.

Good for an adults-only short break, particularly given the location, shuttle and wellness facilities.
Final Verdict
This is the Mallorca hotel my wife and I would save for ourselves. Its marina setting, peaceful atmosphere and excellent wellness facilities make it ideal for a short adults-only escape. It does not belong on a family-hotel shortlist, but it belongs firmly on the list of places parents may dream about while sitting beside a children’s pool elsewhere on the island.
